  1. Give two examples each of strong acids and strong bases.
  2. Name three acids obtained from natural sources.
  3. A student dropped a few pieces of marble in dilute hydrochloric acid contained in a test tube. The evolved gas was  passed through lime water . What changes would be observed in lime water? Write balanced chemical equations for both the changes observed.
  4. During summer season , a milkman usually adds a very small amount of baking soda to fresh milk. Give one reason.
  5. Tap water conducts electricity whereas distilled water does not. Why?
  6. Dry hydrogen chloride gas does not turn blue litmus red whereas hydrochloric acid does . Give one reason.
  7. Name the gas evolved when dilute HCl reacts with sodium hydrogen carbonate . How is it recognized?
