Geometrical meaning of zeroes - Class 10 Chapter 2 CBSE ICSE

Key Points:
Degree is the highest power of variable in a polynomial.
In a polynomial power/exponent is always a whole number.
A polynomial which have degree 1 is called linear polynomial.
A polynomial of degree 2 is called quadratic polynomial.
A polynomial of degree 3 is known as cubic polynomial.
A polynomial of degree 4 is called bi-quadratic polynomial.
Graph of a linear polynomial \( ax + b \), a ≠ 0 is a straight line.
Graph of a quadratic polynomial \( ax^2 +bx + c \), a ≠ 0 is of parabolic in shape.
The numbers of zeroes or roots always less than or equal to the degree of polynomial.
