Minimum Educational Qualifications
Level-I For Becoming Teacher for Classes 1st to 5th: Primary Teacher (PRT)
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE Regulation, 2007 notified on 31 Aug 2009.
ORSenior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE Regulation, 2002.
ORSenior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education.
ORSenior Secondary (or its equivalent)with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
ORGraduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation/Post-Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects

Level-II For Becoming Teacher for Classes 6th to 8th: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)
Graduate and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
ORGraduate in concerned subject with at least 50% marks and 2 years Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE Regulation, 2007 notified on 31 Aug 2009.
ORGraduate in concerned subject with at least 45% marks and 2 years Bachelor in Education in accordance with the NCTE Regulation, issued from time to time in this regard.
ORSenior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education.

Level-III For Becoming Teacher for Classes 9th to 12th: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
- Post Graduate in concerned subject with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
- Consistent good academic record.
Age
Candidates from 18 years to 38 years of age can apply for HTET 2020.
HTET 2020 Selection Process
HTET selection process involves the stages mentioned below:
- HTET online application: candidates willing to apply for HTET need to apply for the exam online. Candidates can select the levels according to their preference and eligibility.
- HTET admit card: HTET admits card will be released one week before the exam. Admit cards for levels 1, 2, and 3 will be released separately on the official website of the HTET exam.
- HTET written test: HTET written exam will have three papers, Paper - I, Paper-II, and Paper - III. Paper - I is for Primary Teachers (Classes I - V), Paper-II is for Trained Graduate Teachers - TGT (Class VI-VIII), and Paper – III is for Post Graduate Teacher (class IX-XII).
